POPULARITY
As interest in wisdom has grown over the years, The Wisdom Page has been treated kindly by search engines. In November of 2004, a Google search for the single word wisdom returned about 9 million pages. In November of 2007 that number was up to 76 million. As of mid-2009 Google returned about 100 million pages. The Wisdom Page is consistently in the top ten of those pages, on the first page of the Google search returns.

Traffic to the site has consistently increased over time. Needless to say, when The Wisdom Page first began in 1995, the site had few visitors. But over the years, as more material was added to the site and more people were attracted to the World Wide Web, the number of visitors increased. Unfortunately, visitor statistics from the early years were lost when the company that originally hosted the site went out of business. The earliest statistics now available date back to November 2007, at which time The Wisdom Page was receiving somewhat more than 2000 visits a month by people from more than 30 countries, and each month more than 10,000 requests for electronic documents were successfully filled. Those numbers have increased considerably since then. Typical of the current situation are the May 2009 Awstats statistics from HostPapa, the organization that currently hosts The Wisdom Page:

In a typical month in 2009, the site's visitors came from more than 120 countries. The number of countries for May, above, was 128. According the Awstats statistics for that month, those countries were (left-to-right, then top-to-bottom by number of visitors):

It is perhaps also worth mentioning that according to the Google "Webmaster Tools" site, as of mid-2009 there were more than 1000 links from other sites to The Wisdom Page.
